In 1891, the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church was in the infancy of a very humble beginning. It was a time of great depression all across the country, reaching every nook and corner of America. A small group of devoted Christians discussed the possibility of beginning a new church for their generation. With an inspiration similar to that of Andrew Bryon, a slave and Pastor of the First African Baptist Church of Savannah, Georgia, this courageous group had as its Spiritual Leader, Rev. C. Saunders, a man with a vision. There were only thirteen members and their leader.
